Silver Star Ski & Sport-Ski Season Prep

As the crisp air settles in and the first snowflakes of the season begin to dust the mountains, Silver Star Ski & Sport is hard at work transforming their shop from summer’s biking haven into winter’s ultimate ski and snowboard destination. November is a month of change, and they are excited to shift gears as they prepare for another unforgettable winter season in Park City.

The Silver Star Ski & Sport team have been diligently working behind the scenes, putting away the mountain bikes and making room for their full range of winter gear. This transition isn’t just about swapping out inventory—it’s about ensuring that every skier and snowboarder who walks through their doors has access to the latest equipment, apparel, and expert advice they need for a successful season on the slopes.

They are aiming to have everything in place and ready for you by Thanksgiving. Whether you’re looking to rent the latest skis, get your snowboard tuned, or simply stock up on cold-weather essentials, their staff is there to help make your winter adventures as smooth and enjoyable as possible. They know how important it is to hit the slopes as soon as the lifts start turning, and they are committed to being fully prepared for your early-season needs.

Silver Star Trails Update-October 2025

October is the perfect time to explore the Dawn’s, Armstrong, and Spiro trails at Silver Star. These beloved trails are in immaculate condition, offering the ideal setting for a fall adventure. The foliage is at its peak, with vibrant hues of red, orange, and gold transforming the landscape into a stunning autumn masterpiece. Whether you’re hiking, biking, or simply enjoying a peaceful walk, these trails provide a picturesque escape into nature’s beauty.

However, this window of opportunity won’t last forever. The trails should remain in great shape until the first snowfall of the season. Labor Day Weekend 2025: 7 Can’t-Miss Events In & Around Park City

Labor Day in Park City means cool mountain mornings, music under the stars, Main Street magic, and a full slate of family-friendly traditions. If you are planning a quick getaway—or you live here and want to act like a visitor in your own town—use this guide to plan an unforgettable long weekend (August 29–September 1, 2025).

1) Miners’ Day: Parade, Running of the Balls, and Mucking & Drilling (Mon, Sept 1)

Park City’s signature Labor Day celebration returns to Historic Main Street and City Park with a full day of festivities: pancake breakfast (7:30–9:30 a.m.), the dog-friendly Bark City 5K (8:00 a.m.), the fan-favorite Running of the Balls rolling down Main (10:30 a.m.), parade (11:00 a.m.), live music, kids’ games, and the old-school mucking and drilling competition in City Park (12:30–2:00 p.m.). Proceeds benefit local nonprofits. The Running of the Balls+1TownLift, Park City News

Why go: It is the quintessential Park City tradition—equal parts heritage, community, and fun.

Local tip: Main Street gets busy. Park in outlying lots and use transit or rideshare.

2) The Revivalists at Deer Valley® Snow Park Outdoor Amphitheater (Fri, Aug 29)

Kick off the weekend with a high-energy, outdoor show from The Revivalists presented by The State Room at Deer Valley’s intimate hillside venue. Bring a low-back chair or blanket and your picnic; concessions are on site. Deer Valley Resort

Why go: Big, soulful rock with mountain-amphitheater vibes—perfect Friday night start.

Local tip: Order a Deer Valley gourmet picnic in advance, then head straight to your spot. Deer Valley Resort

3) Park Silly Sunday Market on Historic Main (Sun, Aug 31, 10 a.m.–5 p.m.)

The beloved open-air market returns for its late-season dates with artisan vendors, live music, food, and a lively community scene up and down Main Street. Rain or shine. Park Silly Sunday MarketSite NameVisit Park City

Why go: It is part street fair, part farmers market, part Park City reunion.

Local tip: Brunch early or late to avoid the midday rush; consider riding the bus.

4) Midway Swiss Days (Fri–Sat, Aug 29–30)

Just 25 minutes from Park City, Midway’s biggest annual celebration fills Town Square with Swiss-heritage pageantry, a parade, live entertainment, and rows of food and craft booths (8 a.m.–8 p.m. both days). Shuttles run from designated lots, including one convenient for Park City arrivals; note that food booths are cash-only and pets are not allowed on the square. Midway Swiss Days+1Heber Valley

Why go: Small-town charm at scale—think pastries, polka, and postcard views.

Local tip: Bring cash for food and plan extra time for shuttle lines.

5) Snowbird Oktoberfest (Sat–Mon, Aug 30–Sept 1 and continuing weekends)

Utah’s original Oktoberfest runs weekends from August 9 to October 12, including Labor Day Monday, with German fare, live music, and mountain activities in Little Cottonwood Canyon. An easy day trip from Park City. SnowbirdVisit Salt Lake

Why go: Lederhosen, steins, and high-alpine scenery—this is a Wasatch fall staple.

Local tip: Go earlier in the day to simplify canyon parking and enjoy cooler temps.

6) Canyons Village: Free “Concerts on the Slopes” Season Finale (Sat, Aug 30)

Wrap up a summer of free shows at Canyons Village with the season’s final Saturday night concert on the Forum stage. Expect lawn-seating, mountain sunsets, and a true local crowd. Check the lineup and times as the date approaches. Canyons Resort Association

Why go: A no-ticket, bring-a-blanket way to enjoy live music at the base of Park City Mountain.

Local tip: Make it a full evening with dinner in the Village and post-show dessert.

7) KALEO at Deer Valley® Snow Park Outdoor Amphitheater (Mon, Sept 1)

Close out the holiday with Icelandic rockers KALEO under the stars at Deer Valley. It is a Monday-night grand finale with mountain acoustics and room to stretch out on the lawn. Deer Valley Resort

Why go: “Way Down We Go” hits different when the stars are out and the air is crisp.

Local tip: Public transit in Park City is complimentary and an easy way to reach the venue without parking stress. Deer Valley Resort

Plan Like a Local

  • Transit: Park City’s bus system is free; when Main Street closes for events, transit is usually the fastest option. Deer Valley also encourages using free public transportation and e-bikes. Deer Valley Resort
  • Chairs & Picnics: For outdoor concerts, bring low-back chairs (under 11″) and a blanket; check each show’s policy before you pack. Deer Valley Resort
  • Timing: For Miners’ Day, arrive early for the 10:30 a.m. Running of the Balls and stay for the City Park games and competitions after the parade. The Running of the Balls
